Dear Health Concerned Friend:

In 2005, after six years of painful inflammation that ended quite quickly, my life changed in such a way, my gratitude so immense, for two years I embarked on a path of discovery that twisted and turned with dismay.

It began as Omega-3 products appeared on shelves at an astonishing rate. Suddenly, Omega-3s were in products from cereal to eggs and recently, a line of pork but it wasn't making sense.

The amazing health discovery that had medical researchers knee deep in studies around the globe was Omega-3 EPA and DHA - from fish, the same EPA and DHA that had changed my health in miraculous ways.

These products began to bother me - really bother me and they kept coming.

What I learned on this path is this – the products today labeled Omega-3 are the most unconscionable abuse of consumer trust seen in decades of living and I've seen a lot of changes from low fat to essential fat to changes in the food pyramid.

That this magnificent medical discovery is being compromised by food manufacturers' greed to such an extent, consumers are being hoodwinked into purchasing products that compromise their health is unconscionable.

This expose has taken a long time to write. There was information scattered and some obscured that took digging deep to understand how these products could appear as they do labeled Omega-3s – yet predominantly Omega-6s that added a dollop of flaxseed or canola and why the FDA qualifying label was being ignored by every manufacturer. You'll walk the path that I walked and will see, this is a major health concern of enormous proportions.

I had to begin back in 2004 with the FDA Health Qualifying Claim and work my way to 313 Omega-3 products in 2007 (with unprecedented numbers expected in 2008) - products that cannot possibly improve your health and worse, most will only add to inflammation you already have from Omega-6s.
